New study finds that introducing living creatures in school settings may boost educational outcomes

Assistance Animals Consulting is sharing an article discussing a research review undertaken by the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition, part of Mars Petcare, and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, US National Institutes of Health.


This article states a new study finds that introducing living creatures in school settings may boost educational outcomes. This study concludes children with and without learning disabilities can benefit from having animals in the classroom with the right safeguards and welfare. The benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, improved social interaction, motivation and learning.
